Hello everyone!

I'm new here and I was wondering if it's bad to never let your budgie mate?...like ever

I have a female pet budgie and I have no plans on making her mate with another budgie.

Your opinions will be very much appreciated. ☺

I let mine live as close to nature as they can in captivity. That means they do mate. I've yet to have a single egg from the current flock , and if I do they can be thrown away (budgies don't lay eggs to replace lost ones) .
There are simple methods to help 'control' their urges including getting rid of everything that can be seen as a nest, and controlling their daylight hours.

Welcome to the Avenue Aly :)

As she is alone, you may notice her mating with toys or other items in her cage. Be sure to dedicate plenty of time to her so she doesn´t get lonely.
