Hello everyone. I am worry about health of one from my parrots. She is Gold and Blue macaw 4 years old. I noticed that her behaviour became more quiet as usually. And also her droppings doesn't look normal to me. It has bright green color and urine is also green. So I am worry that it might be some liver problems.
She is eating Harrison's birds food mixed with Zupeem pallets and seed mix plus fresh vegetables and fruits.
Please could you look at the picture attached and advice.
Thank you.

So sorry I can't be of any help here, since I haven't a clue what could be wrong, but I just wanted to say I hope someone will be able to help, and that your Macaw will be okay.

What kind of the zupreem is she eating? The fruity colored kind?

Has she eaten anything different in the last few days?

The behavior change alone should be enough to prompt a vet appointment. My vet clinic is almost 2 hours from me.... It's time to make an appointment.

She eats the fruty coloured and veggie blend.
No she didn't eat anything else.
She is very humble girl from the day one. Sometimes she doesn't play and sit quiet just because there is new piece of the furniture in the room.
I will collect her droppings and give it to the laboratory to check any infection.

Nothing wrong with that poop. Well formed feces. Separate urine/urates.

I would cut out the fruity colored immediately and see if that makes a difference. I personally am not in favor at all of the Zupreem fruity. There is far too much sugar in them and the colors can change the color of their poops. It may be ok for a short period of time to transition a macaw to a pelleted diet, but long term no.

She needs to see the vet for her energy level. She could have liver issues, or an infection, or a parasite only a vet can run the proper tests to determine what the problem is, or if there is a problem. And it could just be a diet issue.

My vet is one hour and 45 minutes away and he is worth every minute of the drive.

Looks a little puffy and paler green than it could be, but within the norm of macaw poop. I meant that you remove all of the fruity pellets and just give her the Harrison's. Parrot's poop will vary from day to day - and few have perfect poop.
