Hi everyone. I’ve been teaching my pearly conure, Enzo, to forage for her pellets. At first I mixed her pellets in with beads and shredded paper so she had to dig and find them. Now I’m stepping it up and rolling her pellets up into small balls using paper strips I cut from lunch bags, and hiding those in the beads. But she’s not too keen on chewing paper, so she takes her lunch-bag-paper-pellet-ball and dips it in her water dish so it softens and then she gets at the pellets. Then sometimes drops the leftover paper in her water. I’m wondering, should I be concerned about something potentially leeching into her water from the lunch bag paper? Or is it usually pretty parrot-friendly, even if it gets wet? Thanks!
