Miralax powder tiny bit in water. Shopper’s bringing it. If no relief to bring him in to the vet.

JoJo and Chickie polyoma shots next week. LScoot beak trim under reversible anesthesia same day as the caiques

Can’t get any miralax into him. Being completely normal but I haven’t seen him poop but he’s not trying to poop either.

In humans, polyethylene glycol (PEG- the active ingredient in Miralax) is supposed to be tasteless and undetected in liquids. Some do say they can “taste” it because the viscosity of the liquid change change based on the dilution rate, but the taste isn’t unattractive.
If you can’t get it in him with water, will Jackson take juice?

Upon further inspection, I think he was full of quite a bit of poo…

My vet has always told me to use Metamucil (probably the same as Miralax) or canned pumpkin. It worked well when Hank nd jasper were impacted.

That first poop looked very dry. The second was awfully yellow, although the urates and urine aren't. Bright yellow always makes me worry about liver issues. Could just be something about the Miralax though.

He gets a drop of milk thistle daily. I’m monitoring the poop color though he’s not caged and poops every ten minutes anytime he lands from a flight! I wondered about the yellow too! Thanks for responding ML!

I think it was the new food? He picked out the dry fruit and veggies and doesn’t drink water. Gets his liquids from formula. Maybe it was too much dehydrated food?

Well, in humans, constipation as result from eating too many dehydrated foods occurs. Many backpackers who go on long hikes and rely on dehydrated food complain of relating constipation. Watery fruits and veggies, think watermelon and water heavy lettuces, are helpful for them. Otherwise, it’s miralax for them too! But it’s an osmotic laxative, so there does need to be some water in the system for it to work.

I've never heard of anyone else mention vaccines. Are they typical, saroj12?
