That's the first ever in North America.
The best place to see the nest is from the back of a camel.

I saw them!! lol I road the camel and we went like a couple days after christmas i didn't know they were the first!!!

Thanks for the info- when I get to Tampa this is a must see- Will be in NY for 2-3 weeks will catch up with avian ave when I get back as we have dial up .

Update on Shoebill Stork Baby at Lowry

The shoebill stork baby at Lowry Park is the first ever hatched in North America, and the second one ever in captivity.

The little guy is about as big as his parents now, but darker. And he is adorable....

I thought the same thing. They had different expressions on their faces. In the last picture, the mother looks annoyed because I was taking pictures. I wonder what she was thinking...
