My lovebird Kiwi has fishy breath! I’ve owned 3 lovebirds in my life & have never experienced something like this. I plan on taking her to the vet, but wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this and what happened? What can it be?
I must say Kiwi has a bad habit where sometimes she’ll eat her droppings or I’ll come home after work, and see that she pooped in her water and potentially drank her water. I clean her cage consistently but sometimes these things still happen no matter how much I clean /:

Possibly a yeast infection? Yes, you should get her to a vet to get checked out.

Definitely. Odd-smellng breath is not normal.

I would mention this to the vet and ask for tips on how to combat it.
Maybe multiple food bowls, more foraging, or something else. It´s not something I have had experience with but is something we should try to get them to stop somehow.
