love bird to my addition

ok i went shopping today and on the way home i caught the bus and the driver knows i breed and sell birds he went on to say his kids are to busy with there sports his wife also works and he wors 10-12 hours a day so he asked if i would mind taking his love bird so i,m getting his bird some time this week i have no idea what kind it is but when i do get it i,ll post some pics

this is the first time i said yes to a bird before researching the kind of bird but it still gives me time to do that

That's how I acquired my first pair of lovebirds. My pet-sitter asked if I wanted them. Someone had given them to her, but her big dogs were to threatening to the birds, so I took them. Now, thanks to those busy little birds, I've got 6 of their babies. The thrill of my life was handfeeding them and watching them grow into healthy happy little birds.

i love hand feeding but i only do it if the parents abandon the chicks or if the youngest is not able to get fed due to his/her siblings pushing it out of the way

I agree Allen, about the feeding. In all cases I was forced to take over feeding for one reason or another. The first time I had to do it I was scared to death. Thank goodness I had my bird forum friends to guide me. Good luck with your newbys, can't wait to see pics.
