As the title says... we reached out to the club owners for this guy and are waiting for a call back. My question is what are my options if he doesn't call back? We can't keep him unfortunately.

Several years ago we rescued a racing pigeon. It'd been let go for a race in Tennessee. Home was in PA. He or she came thru a very bad thunderstorm the night before we found him & had gotten blown off course. He landed on my neighbors porch roof early morning. Fell off & walked toward me. I reached down for him, but he took off across the street. He landed on a garage roof, fell off. We lost track of him. 2 hours later here he came walking along the edge of the street towards me. I picked him up & we placed him in a dog crate in our basement. Gave him seed mix & water. Found the owner, who seemed to care less about his bird. He said just give him some water & toss him. I said no. This bird is exhausted. Bird was a good 3.5 hours drive from home, of course shorter as the bird flies. Told the owner what happened, re-storm, & that once I felt the bird had recovered I'd let him go. We kept him 3 days. When I tossed him he circled us & then headed home.

I'd suggest you place him in a small dog crate with water & wild bird seed mix. I just used metal & plastic jar lids as dishes. Place the crate in a cool dark place. After 2 or 3 days of rest take him to a high place, if possible, with no power lines & toss him in the air. He'll go home.

Thanks for replying, i've got him in a dog crate right now and have been waiting for the storm to clear up. He's being picked up by my brother-in-law as they know some racing people. (Though after all the stories i've seen I'm a little worried about returning him to the fancier). Hopefully he gets home okay.
