The loud chirping is the other bird in the background (same breed) so that's what he would usually sound like. What would cause a bird to be losing his voice..?? Noticed yesterday his sounds were a little quieter and squeaky and today, he is even quieter. I am waiting on a call back from the vet but just wondering what it could be..?? Have had the birds over a year and this one has had respiratory problems the full time. Watery eye, sniffling when breathing. He has had tests and only thing that showed up was enterobacter and low white cell count. He was on antibiotics 6 weeks ago (marbocyl and metacam) that didn't clear it and been waiting on vet to call to arrange different meds but he has actually been better than ever in that time. Barely any breathing sound and clear eyes. He is acting normal otherwise.

In the video, on the 2nd last clip, he is actually making the quietest noise but is trying to do the same as he is doing in the last clip

I'd imagine it is related to the respiratory infection. Hopefully your vet gets back to you soon!

Hope your absolutely beautiful pal is ok. He looks perky enough but it pays to be diligent about these things
