Hi everyone, my lovebird Benji just finished a clutch and I’m noticing that her belly feathers are falling of shockingly fast, I know that sometimes a bird will molt when laying but this scares me. Is it normal? 3086FA00-6AE5-4021-BD55-EF847D68997F.jpeg

I second what Sarah said. Your bird is going to need blood work done.

Molting does not result in bald patches. Some hens I believe will pluck feathers for use in the nest, but I am not sure to what degree is normal. @Zara ?

Gotcha! I was thinking of brood patches.
That may still be possible. I haven't really seen it in parrots, but it's definitely something to bring up to at the appointment.
