I recently lost my boy of 22 years. I am completely devastated and miss him terribly. If anyone knows of a male wb caique for sale, please let me know. I live in AZ but I could travel for the right bird and fly back with him. I am okay with an older bird. Thank you.

I was so excited to see your name on the post I've really missed you and your flock so much but I'm so very sorry for the reason why your posting. :(

I'm so so deeply sorry for your loss. 22 years together is amazing and such a gift but we all know it's never long enough :(.
I hope your able to find a new Cake to love.

Thank you @April and @iamwhoiam It’s been a week and a half and I cant stop crying. I thought we would have more years together. I’m sorry I haven’t posted in so long. :(

Rocky passed away at 21. Scout is doing good but she has renal failure. I took her for a check up yesterday. We are waiting for labs. The vet said she is very old and I can tell he think she doesnt have much longer. She is now in a smaller cage on the bar in the living room and very happy there. She is still active…she crawls around the bar, on top of the cage, and loves to snuggle.

Rocky and Zeek, my two babies, are gone. And when Scout goes, I will be so sad. I am hoping to at least find a caique boy who needs a new home. He won’t be Zeek, but he will be his own bird

Oh goodness don't be sorry. Life happens and it's understandable how it would be harder to find time to post on AA with so much to do.

Oh man I'm so sorry about Rocky she was such a little darling and I'd always look forward to seeing you posting about her,21 years is amazing though this is such a testament to your love and dedication to your flock.

Bless Scouts little heart I know how hard that is my heart pup had renal failure and its such an awful disease to deal with. I sincerely hope that she will be able to hold on for as long as possible.

It's so hard to lose the ones we love most after I lost Nala and Penny(my pup) I just felt so empty they were everything to me and especially once they were both gone the sadness was just so overwhelming.

I'm certain there's a Caique boy out there waiting to be so loved and spoiled by you. I even went and checked all the rescue pages I follow hoping there'd be a posting about one and sadly didn't see any. They are definitely harder to find for sure but I promise I'll keep my eyes open for you.

@Tyrion Thank you.

So the good news is that Scout’s uric acid levels are 17. Normal is less than 12. She was 17 a year and a half ago so it has not gotten rose. The vet at that time recommended allopurinol. It was very difficult to give her and most times it ended up all over her feathers and me. She is very hard to hold with the broken wing. I gave up giving it to her after that vet said she had about a year of life left with medication. I decided that I didnt want to put her through it. So the new vet said no need to give her allopurinal and continue to let her live her life happy as can be. :)

That's such amazing news! I'm so very glad, keep fighting Scout. :heart: any new pics of her? That would be lovely to see her if you started a new thread so the posts don't have to be approved? I'm just so hoping to see her. Didn't you have a foster Nansun named Felix? Did he find a home?

Hello, I am very sorry to hear about Zeke.

I've just been referred to this forum regarding re-homing my White Bellied Caique. He's 20 years old, lives with me in New Orleans, Louisiana and I've had him since he was a baby. He's a great little fella, but at my current stage in life I can't give him all the attention he deserves - work, baby, etc.

I can't find a way to direct message you. Perhaps because I'm new and don't have enough posts. I will be happy to send over some photos and more information if you're interested.

-Will

Hi Will, I just got a new caique last week. I’m so sorry that you are in this situation. I know how time consuming these little guys are. Do you want to direct email me at jeschbach1@yahoo.com ?
