Have you ever gotten a bird from them?Avalon aviary is in Colorado
I don't know where you are.
Thank you very much that is great to know.I got my Hahns from them, but it was more than 10 years ago.
they do socialize their birds well.
I am checking Craigslist everyday. Is it safe to assume you've also tried Craigslist? I live in NYC, so I know it might be a different situation. But, there are many large birds available from individuals who are looking to re-home their birds.
I am checking this place out. I found it on facebook. I did ask if they ship.Avalon aviary is in Colorado

Where is this place? Do you have a website or facebook page?I don't know if you are interested but In A Pickle Parrot shop has a Noble macaw. They seem to have a good reputation and Noble macaws seem to be increasingly uncommon. They're the same species as Hahn's macaws, just a different subspecies, slightly larger and supposedly more calm and gentle.
I am in Las Vegas, I am in a bird club here & have been asking around there is 1 breeder with Severe Macaws she may have some babies in the spring. You sound like you are in northern Nevada if you don't see many birds on Craigslist... I don't know if there are any breeders in Nevada that raise hahns.
I've heard great things about DJ Feathers Aviary, although I don't know how much they charge... They are located in Virginia, too...

I read another post where you mentioned a plum head at a pet store. We don't typically have any plum heads, here!!!! But finding a good breeder or anything else locally.... well, we're pretty dry up north! lol LV has more birds, bird stores and other bird related things!
Was also thinking... hahns macaws aren't bigger than sun conures... so they don't exactly fit into the "larger" category!
Saying that you got turned down by a local rescue because you have a dog also made me think of a local rescue to me that can be very picky if a person owns a dog, as she doesn't like having dogs around birds, yet at least 2 of her 6 dogs and a dog by an employee can often be seen around her birds. -shrugs-
I was trying to think of a breeder that's closer to you, but now that I remember the breeder, I'm not sure if they still raise hahns or not.
Gail's favorite small parrot species- Hahn's and Noble Macaws
There are many breeders in California though...

Depends on where this person is? If she would ship? But yes I would think about it.Would you consider an adult bird? I know @Beanurita had a Hahn's she was looking to rehome. I'm not sure if she found a home yet for him or not but he seems like a nice bird.

I am in Nevada so it may be to far.
Thank you
