Of course, on a Friday evening. When else would a pet hurt itself?

Gremlin has a small foot cut - no idea when or how it happened. He’s eating/drinking/pooping/flying/etc perfectly fine, can walk on it, is perching, lets me touch it - but if he’s just hanging out he’s tucking it up so it’s obviously tender. It’s not actively bleeding. I’m hesitant to do much to it in case I get it bleeding again.

Aside from keeping an eye on it, anything else I need to do or watch for?

An additional note: I’m watching him currently stand on the injured foot while holding food with the other, if that makes a difference.

That's a pretty big cut . Stand in dilute betadine added to water , a few drops to make a light tea color . 4 times a day . Ideal. If won't standing , hold paper towel soaked in the warm solution for as long as you can 4 times a day . If can not do any of that , spritz with warm dilute betadine and leave on , ya I do 4 times a day .
Betadine stains stuff , but will eventually wash out
No ointment!
Betadine soaks are great . Often can get to heal .
Any swelling or redness then needs vet

Put him in a small unit cage, cover the bottom with towels or soft paper. As well as doing what @Pixiebeak mentioned.

Toto had a similar owie when she was little due to a mishap during grooming. She was a total baby but recovered fine. Be extra sweet and offer lots of millet!

Keep it clean and dry. Do you have any First Honey gel or ointment? 1726945022464475804950510154832.jpg
A little dab and the cut won't hurt. Run hands over every thing he possibly stand on for sharp edges.

Sorry for the late update! Had some family emergency issues

His foot is totally fine! The day after I posted, you couldn’t even see where a cut had been. I definitely jumped the gun in being worried :roflmao:
