I heard from many that linnie's nails grow pretty fast. How often do you trim/cut them and when you do, do you do it by yourself or does it require a vet visit?

If you have no experience then yes.

A good pedi perch (one with a smooth side) will cut back on visits.

Like a pedi perch... but one side of it is smooth, that part faces up so that your birds feet don´t get hurt.
I use Hagen (Living world), others use the weird bendy looking one, I´m sorry I do not know what it is called.

@Zara I'm just curious, but when do you trim your lovies' nails? Also, how often do they chew through the toys to the point where you must change them?

So far, never. The pedi perches maintain them mostly. Then additionally I´ll use a nail file or introduce sepia when I feel them a little long.

Adelie is different because she is special needs so she gets her nails clipped.
