Hello,

We're looking to buy some bird-safe donut pans. Can anyone please suggest specific brands for donut pans that have been safely used around birds?

Would LFGB food grade silicone donut pan (without any fiberglass filler) be considered safe? Any specific brand - Toeusog-US, Aichoof, Anaeat?

I googled this question: Are cakes pans made from BPA-free, food-grade silicone, capable of withstanding extreme temperatures safe for cooking around birds and found this info --->

Yes, true BPA-free, food-grade silicone is generally a safe alternative to traditional non-stick pans, but there are specific caveats to keep in mind when cooking around birds due to their highly sensitive respiratory systems.

Silicone Safety around Birds
Because birds have unique, delicate respiratory tracts, they are incredibly sensitive to aerosolized particles and fumes. However, the risk profile of silicone depends largely on its purity.

Pure Food-Grade Silicone: High-quality, verified 100% food-grade silicone is completely free of PTFE (Teflon) and is generally considered inert and safe during standard baking.

Cheap Silicone & Fillers: Low-quality silicone can sometimes contain synthetic fillers or plasticizers that may off-gas when heated, which could pose a risk to pet birds.

Temperature Limits: Even high-quality silicone breaks down and releases siloxanes if overheated beyond its typical maximum threshold (around 428°F to 450°F). [1, 2, 3, 4]

No PTFE (Teflon): Traditional non-stick cookware is often treated with Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which can emit fatal fumes if overheated. Pure silicone does not contain this, making it a much better alternative. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

For further reading use the same question I wrote to get on the same page I copied this information from. There are many places you can click on this page when you open it and expand your knowledge.

I did click on your first link that took me to that product on Amazon and read it has a metal inner lining and the silicone coating is BPA- free. Most of the reviews were positive and the biggest complaint was the depth of the tray being too shallow. Are you baking donuts? I remember my mother making donuts the old fashioned way in a deep fryer. They were yummy! :D
