ordering the other four birds around, plus the three dogs.
people ask are the birds safe with the dogs in the same room as them?
I often think it should be are the dogs safe in the same room as the birds?
They are herded up into a corner and told to sit. The dogs I am talking about and who is doing the ordering? Leroy a very small African Grey.
She shows no sign of fear at all and should one of the larger dogs decide they are not going to be taking orders from a bird and do not listen, be it at their peril.
she alights onto the coffee table just the right height to reach their nose and runs the length of it neck outstretched, looking so clumsy and ungainly it makes me laugh.
If they are still holding their ground and not budging they end up with a hard peck on the end of their nose.It can be hard enough to draw a pin hole of blood. She then proceeds to dish out the commands and woe betide them if they don't do as they are told then!
No my dogs are the ones that have to be protected at all times not the birds.

thank you for letting me know. still next time i come across something like it I will be just as much in the dark as now! Can never remember what all the abbreviations stand for. Will have to have a book of them by the side of me and desipher as I go along!

Our repair man Paul is coming back thank goodness. Despite the "shut up" from Leroy he is smitten and will be here next week hopefully with the repair part needed for the dishwasher.
Would banish her to the other room, but I already know he is going to be asking for her! why?he already has done so on my answering machine!

Well Paul the repair man has been and gone with first fitting on the new part onto the dishwasher. Spent more time with the birds than the machine, but I forgive him!
Off to my silk painting class this morning with Leroy shouting from the conservatory "Come back here!"
John was at home with them so they did have company.
On my return at lunch time she looked up long enough from what she was doing to say "Where have you been?" They do know what they are saying and are not just mimicking.
As I prepared lunch she was shouting "Do you want to come in?" meaning she did. They are wheeled in around the table with us and we all have our lunch together. Five birds and two dotty old dears!

heheehehee! Its the same around here. Only we have a GCC bossing the chihuahuas around! Cookie will RUN after Poppie and try and nip her. Poppie always comes running crying and jumps in my lap. Poor girl!

Today Leroy's favourite saying is "you alright sweetheart?" That is what John says to her often. She is a real character alright, but could not imagine my life without her in it.
