Hummingbirds are back in my neck of the woods. So much fun watching them, so hard to get a decent pic they are such fast little buggers

Set the iso speed as high as possible or set to sports mode and see how they come out. Might also want to try panning the camera and set the lens stabilization if you have the option. I used a old Rebel XT when I was off work for months to try and get humming bird shots and most were bad but I got some good ones as I figured out the best setting for the camera and lens. My newer T3 has much faster settings but not many hummers around here at this new house compared to the old rental.

I have a canon 70d with a 70-200 with a 2x extender on it. I shoot in manual mode with high speed and they are still fast little buggers to get decent shots of. I got this last spring

Well then you know what your doing and have a excellent camera and I agree they are really hard to get decent shots of. I tried everything with that XT and finally started getting some good shots but it was always a battle. I have pictures of them outside in a snow storm with snow on their beak while pushing through the snow at the feeder in the window at the old house.

Yep, on the west coast it tends to not be super cold most winters so they stay and eat all winter. We had two males and a female at that feeder and her chick who probably moved on before winter hit.

Beautiful pictures!

We had 2 resident hummingbirds at our last house. We had 2 large flower gardens in front with about 8 ft of grass between. Apparently they are super territorial and each claimed a garden. Regularly I saw them battle in the middle, just a little iridescent blur.
