Having been through a CT scan with Oscar (imaging his air sacs), I found this extremely interesting, but the insights that were shared are relevant to each of us.

On the scale between theoretical and practical, this presentation leans to theoretical at this point because it's fairly new, but the practical applications are very exciting.

They issue a warning in the video that it contains graphic images (primarily in the last quarter of the presentation around the 44 minute mark), but I'm also echoing it here.

The degree of insight and detail they're achieving with new contrast protocols and agents, combined with higher resolution CT scanners, is really impressive.

They talk about atherosclerosis, kidney function analysis (finding problems even before it's present in traditional lab work), etc.

They're finding things that aren't discovered with ultrasound or x-rays.

It's improving how anatomy and surgical procedures are taught to doctors in training.

He even talks about its utility in diagnosing brain injuries.

So much good stuff.

(Did I mention graphic images?)
