I want to kill the house, but not my parrot. Is there a poison for that?

What kind of flies are they? Fruit flies? Normal house flies?

Yes, we'd need to know the info Kenzie asked about.

Instead of killing the flies, how about the removing the reason they are there in the first place?
i doubt they are in your house because it is so nicely decorated ;)

and if you have birds, then sometimes they come with the package :)

I too would be interested in some suggestions to getting rid of insect pests without hurting the birds. I have an infestation of fleas and I want to kill these bloodsuckers. but I don't want to harm my birds.

I doubt it will be immediate relief, but I use fly predators here. Usually in the warm months, but I have found a few mosquitoes in the house already, so I will start soon with the predators. Surprisingly, water is even more important than the food source. Especially outdoors, any marshy or wet area will draw new flies, if there's a food source they will stay to lay eggs.
These help a lot. Bottles and biting flies are what we battle here most.
