Okay guys, give me all your tips and tricks! I'm on the hunt for a tabletop playgym and am down to a couple of finalists, but before I commit to either I'd like to know how on earth you convince your flighted birds that it's more fun to play on the stand than fly up into the light fixtures :shifty:

Because there's no point in getting a birdy playgym if I can't convince the bird it's a good idea  (but mostly :bored:). At the moment, their shenanigans are limiting their out-of-cage time and I'd like to change that!

I have found the best way to keep them entertained on the stand is with millet spray and shreddable toys.

You could probably target train the birds to spend time there, though a lovebird won´t spend time there if they just don´t want to.

The taller stands are liked better as birds prefer to be up high.
I've never had any luck with ones you put on a table.
Hanging stands even better.
I'd agree on sticking some millet and fun toys there also.

A flighted bird isn’t going to “stay” anywhere. Because they don't have to. If they do it’s going to be up as high as possible. So you’ve got the wrong kind of light fixture. You need one like this
