I have a almost 4 month old lovebird. I've had him for 6 weeks. I started target training with him after I had him for roughly two weeks.
Last week I was able to capture him bobbing his head. I call it "rock out". I don't often have him perform this trick because I'm under the impression it's possibly a mating behavior.
This week we've been learning "spin". He's getting better at it but today when he was halfway through his spin he starting "rocking out" until he completed the turn. How the heck do I reward the spin without also encouraging rock out? Do I just ignore the spin and not click if he rocks out while spinning?
As an aside, it's actually really adorable.
