well ok, I don't really call them "crazy donkey cookies" But I probably can't say •••. lol

I went and wrote up EXACTLY what the recipe is supposed to be, as I make it. It is a forgiving recipe. It is also forever evolving............... one day, after the great bird forums apocalypse, all that will be left is................

CRAZY ••• COOKIES!!!!

just so you know, where it says 8 oz buckwheat or what ever, that just happened to be how much I got. lol I did not weigh it out at the store. This is my birds evening meal. Sophie gets half a cookie, the other half I cut a third off for Cricket and Zoey gets the rest.
I prefer to use 5, 7, 9 grain cereal but the Whole Foods I shopped at did not seem to have it. This recipe began as a simple 5 grain cookie. :hehe:

1 lb spelt flour
8 oz buckwheat flour
6 oz quinoa
10 oz buckwheat groats
6 oz black chia seed
6 oz wheat berries
8 oz millet
6 oz sesame seed
4 oz pine nuts
2.5 oz pecans
2.5 oz walnuts
1 tblspn cinnamon
1/4 tablspn nutmeg
1 medium sized papaya
1 small can pumpkin
1 lb bag goji berry/blueberry mix frozen
1 bag Bob's Redmill rolled oats (replaced 9 grain cereal)
4 whole eggs (shell included)
1 large sweet potato
1 bundle dandelion greens
1 bundle dino kale
3 tblspn Red Palm oil

Mix all dry items together, including pine nuts.
In a food processor mix together remaining nuts, RPO, goji berry/blue berry mix, papaya, eggs and sweet potato. Blend until liquid.
Add to dry mix and blend together well. If more liquid is needed, 100% juice, water or apple sauce works great. Add as needed.
Kale and dandelion greens next in the food processor.
Mix them in with the rest of the batter.
Pre heat oven to 375 degrees.
I use a tablespoon and scoop out batter, form into a cookie shape, place on baking pan (cookie sheet) bake for 20 to 30 minutes depending on how dry you want it to be. 25 minutes seems to work perfect for me.

my birds have been loving them for over a year. "Cookie time!!" gets their attention for sure. They may be why I have no problem getting my birds back in their cages at night. lol

lol I didn't make them with the intent of it being a snack. At least not after the third or so batch I made. It costs around $30 to make them as the recipe stands and lasts about two months or so.

I totally took down the recipe and think they should be renamed Jim's Cookies of Awesomeness. I think Chico would love these!
