Hey all I’ll be posting pictures of Jenks new room to this thread as I get things set up. I would love to get ideas from everyone and the first one I need ideas with is below. There was an old intercom system in the house and in his room it is missing with just the hole left behind. I could just patch the hole but I am thinking of attaching perches to the wall or something around the hole. Then putting a piece of wood over the hole to attach other things to. Pictures of the hole are below! Hit me with creative ideas AA!!

Put a big piece of wood overlapping the hole and fasten it well. Then screw everything else to that.

That's just what you need, alright. Saves him the effort of having to chaperone your bathroom trips.

He so does this every time :lol:it is like having a toddler the house again. Does Rupert have to use the bathroom with you too?

Rupert cries (crocodile tears) when I leave, but I don't take him with me to the bathroom. He may try when he discovers he is capable of flying.

The real culprit is Sherbie! If she follows me, she will try to "assist", and it is no fun trying to pull your pants up with a tiny piranha clinging to them.

We attempted to go to the hardware store to get materials! It is too packed with shoppers so I’ll try again later. This is what we will attempt to do. It would be easy to replace when needed!:thanks:

To add to this, maybe drill a hole in the center of the wood covering to attach a landing perch and then cover the wall in that area with shreddable toys.

Great idea! I also want to dye the wood different colors. I have been looking up directions on how to do that. This will be fun!

Let's see, bathroom trips.
Cricket Cocker: shoves the door open
Piper Maltese: comes in but dislikes it; lays on the bath mat and waits
2 caiques: come in, get on the counter, start throwing things
Angel Pi: flies in, circles, wants a bath.

No respect, I tell you!

But tell me this, do you ever feel lonely? How could you, with an entourage like that? :D

I would put a hole first so you can spy on them. It's must be great to have something to do when you are going to the bathroom. Better then television! :D

No I would use that hole for water. You don't have water in that room?
A smaller sink and running water is great to have in a bird room.

My conure does this too! It's maddening! He clings to my pant leg

@JLcribber hey John would this work? My only concern is I can’t tell if it has been treated and it does say may be edge glued. I’ll keep looking too! I typically don’t buy wood for something that has to be bird safe so am trying to make sure!
