Baby Jazmin is now 6 months & 17 days old. We've had her for 2 months & 7 days. She eats well & plays hard with all her toys every day. She is super sweet except for her occasional clamping of her beak on fingers & my ear. She jabbers away, like she's telling you a story, in her cute little voice. She is saying "Peek-a-boo & trying to say her name & hello. She will say peek-a-boo in the middle of the night, cage covered with a dark blue sheet, if wakened. She is flying even tho clipped (parrot store did a baby clip). She's still learning directional flying & landing, but she's getting better. Usually she flies off her cage or the parrot tower, across the living room into the dining room (where my computer desk is), then walks to me to pick her up. She loves her cheeks, neck & under beak rubbed & her feet kissed. She'll hold a foot up for me to kiss it. She does "big bird wings up" on command. We had company a few days ago & she stepped up for everyone. We have a contractor here now putting up a new ceiling in our bedroom. Nothing seems to phase her. In about a month, weather provided, we'll be getting the outside aviary ready. I know she'll love it, but not sure how she'll do with JaKhu & Jengo. If she gets within 3 feet of them, while they are in their cages, she raises her crest & hisses at them. My husband is enjoying her too, as he can't handle JaKhu or Jengo. Jazmin will fly & land on his lap, then crawl up for hugs & rubs. One night she tucked her head under his shirt. I've wrapped her in a towel several times to get her used to being toweled. One of her favorite things to do, other than get rubs, is to sit on the back of my chair & watch videos of cockatoos dancing. I mute the sound so she doesn't pick up on all their excited screams. I need to dig out a harness & see if she'll wear it.
JaKhu let out her macaw scream & scared the contractor, LOL. I warned him she would. She screams at anyone new in the house or yard.
