Our Max health crisis journey started almost exactly 158 days ago (to the hour)....

Along the way, it has cost about $20,000, and that's only Vet / medical dollars, not all the gas, tolls, hotel costs etc for the countless hour plus drive time runs to our 3 avisn Vets in Philly and Jamison....
But today is one of the last Miracle Max Milestones we've been working towards and hoping for, the latest CBC result from Monday's post surgery followups is back.... and that WBC that has been dangerously and worrisome high since January has come back NORMAL!!! It took trying combos of 4 different meds (2 antibiotics and 2 antifungals) to finally get a positive response and kick that damn lingering infection out! But happy day to share that after 158 days, Max is healthy!! We have another round of blood later this month to triple check the WBC remains 'normal'.
We had the other awesome news Monday evening after the Philly visit, they run Chem panels in house and that weird, crazy high calcium level he had going on (and making everyone think they were gonna find girlie parts), has finally returned to normal range.
So officially, all blood panels for our Miracle Max are NORMAL!
There have been lots of changes since we started this journey... ties cut with some people that didn't deserve a place in our circle.... connections made with a few new friends that have checked on Max and me often. I appreciate all the positive energy from Max friends and family. It's been one hell of a long long road back to healthy for Max....
But absolutely no regrets. This date will need to be another birthday for Max.... what should we call it - LifeDay? MaxDay? HolycraphisCBCisnormalDay?
