Hi, I'm wondering whether this is true and whether we can be told the reasoning behind it.

There's a rumor circulating that all minors / under 18 private message threads are being deleted. Why?

Besides just the obvious reasons, I'm a little concerned because at least 2 minors over the years have contacted me when having mental health issues - we want to keep that path open right?

I do know that sometimes these actions are taken to comply with privacy laws in various countries. Each country has its own laws, and the administrators of online forums must comply with those laws. I can’t speak to what is happening, but that would be my guess.
