I found this and thought it would make a great bird toy. Have hung it in Louise's cage and she loves it. She doesn't chew it, she hangs upside down and otherwise crashes it with her beak or kicks it. I don't know what type of metal, and it doesn't seem like something she could get caught in? It is a "foot tambourine" from ebay. It arrived quickly but that only means the seller had stock.
Thanks for any opinions.

Do you know what kind of metal it is? You want to make sure it is not a toxic metal if she chews on it at all.

It looks like it could be stainless steel but I would ask the seller if they knew, and also be careful some pieces of the metal could be very sharp

@MR. Mango just checked, nothing sharp. But the discs are magnetic, just tested that.

Contact the seller to find out what the metal is but I suspect they’ll be SS or nickel plated. I’d be concerned and extra cautious regardless of what metal it is as the discs are likely held in place with little pins so I wouldn’t personally be comfortable allowing my birds to ever play with it unsupervised.

Zinc is not magnetic so it rules that one out!! That is good!

Edit to ask-Is the rest of it magnetic?

she loves this toy, above all, I want her safe...ideas on something similar? she has tons of bells. I think because it is noisy, colorful, and reflective? I am now pretty sure it is nickel as it is magnetic. I scratched the spare one and it isn't plated. pretty thin but not easily bent.

@saroj12 WOW, that is huge! She would love that too! I think what she finds fun with the tambourine is that she can crash her beak on to the plastic and still get noise. I rotate about 7 sets of bells for her, always 4 available.
