Borage is listed on lists as both safe and toxic depending. So I would be leary of that.

A couple of resources to cross reference.

Thank you! I’ll do further research on borage. I actually used most of the sites that you mentioned, but couldn’t find any information on some of the seeds that were in the packet. Do the other seeds look fine to you?

I'll be honest, I spot checked a couple but unfortunately do not have time to go through the whole packet personally to reference. You can try to Google "(plant name) parrot safe" and see what comes up. If you don't get any hits on reliable websites (don't trust Spruce Pets, etc) then assume it's not safe.

Thank you. I’ll play it safe in stick to individual varieties, instead of mixes.

I will for sure! One more question, though: Is it safe to feed flowers grown from seeds from stores like Ace Hardware or Home Depot? I made sure they were non-treated and non-gmo, but I want to be sure!

That I'm not sure. I know when I worked in the garden section of Home Depot their growers DID use pesticides

I checked on the website of the company the seeds are from, and I confirmed that they are not treated with any pesticides.

The seeds aren't, but the plants are as they were growing. Helps increase their yield. However, that was 6 years ago so it's possible they no longer do that. So it would be up to your own research and judgement to determine if you are comfortable with it or not :)

I will do that research then. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
