I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this type of harness before I buy it and if it's safe enough! It's nice and affordable. Screenshot_2025-08-31-19-45-49-56_40deb401b9ffe8e1df2f1cc5ba480b12.jpg

The clip they are using is not recommended for use around parrots, so that makes me weary of it.

The clip they use I could easily replace with one of those little twist to open carabineers (I have plenty spare from toys he has chewed through) and those are impossible for birds to open or get stuck in.
So, it's more the body of the harness I'm worried about. Do you think the harness could potentially slip off the wings or anything?

I understand that the clip can be replaced easily and was not your question.

However, without knowing anything at all about the harness or company itself, if they are marketing it with an unsafe part, then it makes me question if the rest of the item is safe. It shows a distinct lack of knowledge about the very animal that will be wearing it.

Looks great for a lizard but I would not feel safe taking my parrots outdoors wearing that.

Given the fact they use a well known dangerous clip for parrots my guess is they decided at a last minute to try targeting parrots as well as lizards for this harness. I’ve never before seen a good quality, well thought out harness design that was made for numerous animals- this is a thing that budget companies do to appeal to more than one pet owner and increase their chances of selling their product, sad part is usually that they miss the safety and comfort mark for every animal they try to market to. Most animal stuff really needs to be species specific for it to truely be of value and worth it for the animal.
