I told him his bird is sick but he said his bird is healthy and this may be a mutation. He only feeds it birdseed. He said his other birds didnt turn out like this so he discarded this as sick bird.

I wonder if this could be red suffusion? I do not know the answer, nor have I seen a bird like this.

Sorry, lol , spell checker, I was in a hurry. No he didnt get rid off it. So long story short, I saw the bird and it’s diet, so I assumed it had some type of liver disease. However, he said he feeds all his birds the same seed, which is horrible btw, and it was the only one that obtained that color. So, he basically said it was a mutation not an illness. Is it?

How old is the bird?

Has the bird gone through any molts?

Did the bird feather out this way?

I wont out-right say the bird is sick... but I also wont say it's not.

What I'm seeing though is something akin to stress bars... and that the coloring should go away with one or more molts. But if it's something that remains.... might be something to look into.

Sorry, I was answering a question. I am kind of new here, so I am not that great at posting, plus, I didn’t think the subject performing this action would change the outcome of the bird. It’s about 8 months old, it has gone through one molt and it was born like this according to the breeder.

That is an opaline lutino peach faced lovebird. As Zara said, this bird does seem to have red suffusion as well.

I believe so, Ive heard they started breeding “red” fischers that apparently were born from fallows. However, I don’t think this the fallow type “red”.

This bird is definitely not a Fischer's. It is a pure peach-faced.
