Jicama is a starchy root vegetable loaded with vitamins, protein, complex carbohydrates, potassium, dietary fiber, and various nutrients. Hence, parrots can eat Jicama safely, and at the same time, gain all the benefits that come with it.
The Jicama plant’s leaves, stems, seeds, and flowers are all toxic, only the tuber is safe. But I can't find anything saying it has to be cooked; seems most places say raw is fine.
