Is quasar a silly name?

so today I drove 3 and a half hours to get my quaker..i think im naming him quasar. I know it sound a bit odd.. dont know that I've ever heard of others with that name..
But when I was young, I knew an older lady that had a parrot (maybe a macaw? I remember him being huge..) and he would say/sing the word 'quasar' all the time..
Anyone old enough to remember the television commercials, 70s and 80s, for quasar tv.s, at the end of the commercial someone would sing..'quasar..'
Anyway, i always thought at the time that would make a great name for a parrot, and here I am..
He was quite tuckered out after the trip home and fell asleep quickly in his new cage.
I thought of naming him largo or Oakley maybe, but the quasar memory appeared in my head..does it sound too "cosmic"

I love it! It definitely suits a bird!

Great name! Of course this means you must get another bird and call it Zenith. (Any IT Crowd fans out there?) ;)

I absolutely love IT Crowd! I even met Richard Ayoade once, he's just as awkward in person

I think it is a great name! Besides, it is your choice anyway, so if anyone tells you they don't like it, then that doesn't mean anything!

I second the need for pictures of your birdy!

I'm thinking it will be quasar..
Hes still getting used to his surroundings and all and not feeling photogenic..I misted him with a little water as he seems to be maybe growing feathers on his head, and seemed to be itchy. 20200927_074342.jpg 20200927_073321.jpg

Thanks...
Im starting getting a little worried..ive seen him drink from his water bottle, (which honestly, I thought he might take a while to figure out, but he figured it out quickly) but I have seen him eat yet (we got back here about 7.30 last night) and he won't take any treats or seed from my hand..i hope its just him getting used to his new place..

Leaving food in multiple areas around the cage, low down, up high, and near a perch you see him favouring is a good way to know he knows where the food is. He may only eat when you are not looking.
Attach an empty bowl inside, next time you offer a treat, if he is not interested, drop it in the bowl and walk away.

Also be sure you are feeding what he had at his previous home/breeder/store etc. They usually don't immediately try new foods

A unique name for a one-of-a-kind Quaker! The first 24 hours will give him a chance to explore inside the cage.

I have dropped the uneaten treats in his 3rd bowl..i guess that will be his designated vegetable etc bowl. I hope hes eating the pellets (the parrot place had him eating zupreem pellets..) when im not looking or when i was asleep.
