My family is planning on getting jasmine plants for the home because they love the scent.

Is it safe for birds though? Such as the sent, can they eat the flower as a treat etc?

I have a canary and two zebra finches.

Thank you :)

Jasmine is on the toxic list for parrots, so I wouldn't offer it to your birds.

I've heard it's toxic to chew on as said before. If it was were the birds never go (another room) it would be ok but you may not want to risk them finding it and trying some :) I'd personally not risk it- birds are very curious

Thanks everyone! :)

When I get them it will not be offered as something to chew on/play with.

Will be for scent and viewing purposes only.

I wouldn't trust them taking a sneaky nibble whilst your back was turned during out of the cage time

Jasmine plants release sap too if I'm not wrong and it causes a slight rash on human skin. So be careful with that!
