He was rescued from a hoarding situation, so no age or sex was disclosed.

Theres videos of him vocalizing something I would describe as a barn owl screech when he was taken in by the rescue prob due to stress, but since he's been brought home he's been totally quiet, not what I would expect from an Amazon.

Also any taming tips would be greatly appreciated.

Vet appt is set, currently on organic seed diet (no sunflowers), and accepts chopped vegetables, poops also healthy looking, breathing and mobility are okay, other than long nails vet will take care of.

You can basically tell if a bird is a juvenile or an adult; beyond that it's anyone's guess as usually the inner working are what age before the outside does.

He's absolutely gorgeous! Hope the vet visit goes well.

Ollie my Orange-winged Amazon was also absolutely silent when he first came to me, and he hardly moved. I had to work hard to gain his trust. You might find the taming tips I wrote here useful:

Such a gorgeous baby!! I got my amazon from a pretty bad living conditions but he recovered nicely. He's now a cuddle bug  . I think your baby is scared thus silent. But amazons are tough birds and they are very food motivated. You can find out his favorite food and use that accordingly. Lots of love:heart:

Yes! The red is a bit lower than most red lored amazon
I thought the same...I grew up with a Red Lored Amazon, and cheeks were more yellow than red/orange. Regardless, he's beautiful, like a bag of skittles!
