Is he going to grow peach colored feathers on his forehead, or is he the same mutation as Poco? He looks just like my dearly departed Sami, in terms of body feather coloring, but Sami was a peach-faced pied.

Poco is a Dutch Blue mutation, so no he's not the same mutation. I'm honestly not sure whether he will develop the peach colored feathers or not. When I have searched for pictures and information about the pied mutation, it seems that there is a lot of variation between individuals. I have seen some with the full peach face and some with a pale, whitish face. I honestly don't know a whole lot about lovebird genetics so maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in.

From the picture of him in your signature, it appears Poco is a seagreen mutation.

I get to bring him home this Sunday . I am thinking of naming him Pico. And I will, of course, be posting more pictures once he is home.

Usually they still get the peach or light tan face just like any other lovie

Here's bubbles, he's a pied as well.


Usually their face feathers come in last, if your baby will have the more orange face it'll almost look like he will have little chicken pox.

Since he is a blue series mutation he will get a peach/ tan face. He is already beautiful!
