Is is wrong to keep a single Indian ringneck I currently own one and spend 4-5 hours with him on a daily basis no matter what. I'm just wondering if he gets lonely or upset when I'm not there and I have read online that birds should be kept in pairs as they are social and flock by nature. But I am aware that birds are extremely territorial and keeping 2 in the same cage will stress then out a lot. I'm not planning on getting another bird any time soon just wondering if it's wrong for me to keep a single bird.

If you feel that he is lonely, you could put another bird in a separate cage. That way they could keep each other company, but not hurt each other.

Also, be sure to include as many foraging opportunities as possible and plenty of toys for your bird to keep him entertained during the times he´s alone.
