In honor of Daisy, my son decided to bring home a couple of newly hatched Pekin ducklings! Penny, his khaki campbell drake has been super lonely following Daisy's killing, so my son made the decision to get another. He found a poultry farm that primarily sells their ducks to restaurants, and saved 2 of their babies from becoming someone's dinner. They shipped them to us on the same day they hatched. It'll be a while before he can introduce them to Penny, but that's okay.

Meet Holly and Harper! They're 6 days old today and have already doubled in size.

Thank you! They've already figured out how to escape from their kiddie pool 2 days after they arrived, those little stinkers. So now he has a gate surrounding their enclosure. They are fast lil things!
They remind me of Easter at this age. So fuzzy/fluffy.

Here they are! If you look closely you can see the first little white feathers popping up on Holly's tail. It's amazing how quickly they are morphing in size and personality. Their tiny little 'peep peep' sounds are being replaced with lower tones. I'm already missing those itty bitty 'peep peep's.
