What a beautiful bird! What is his name? :)

His name is Saitama :angel6: the problem with training is that i never know if i'm being completely successful?? i'm always left with a sense of uncertanity :( a little example: i've been recall training Saitama and he DOES come, but only when he's not interested in something else or not in the mood... idk if i should consider him recall trained yet lol

i'm even unsure if certain behavior should be allowed or not, i'm gonna probably have to post a thread in the cockatiel thread before it's too late lol

Saitama: that's a nice name! :)

Heh I understand what you're saying.
My birds tend to do sometimes the same things:
I'm trying to teach Whiskey to recall and sometimes he just takes off and ??? goes somewhere else.
Or just goes and hides himself away (playing) and only wants to show himself when I'm pretending that I'm searching for him :roflmao:
And that's okay.
I think it should also be fun for him to learn these things, if he isn't in the mood then I think it's not the right time to train with him.
We can try again later.

How long do you train with him at once?
It might help to try to train in smaller segments like 1-5 minutes at a time, and try to build that time up (as long as he is still interested).
And if he's not just go do something else and try again later.

Training is both a progress for both you and Saitama, so if he already comes to you 70% and wants to be with you, I think you both are doing fine :)

Hahahaha our birds are really similar!! Super sassy!! :loltears:

I usually can get him to train for about 5 minutes, then he just wants to stay on my shoulder. Also thank you for telling me that sometimes they're just not in the mood, i always doubted that it might have been him not understanding the command, but realizing he's just ignoring me is just so...FUNNY hahahahah so silly lolol

I'm gonna follow your advice and if i see him not responding i'll not push him to keep training, and maybe try again later with shorter sessions, THANK YOU! :)
