My ringneck doves just laid another egg...
An egg from these guys should be slightly larger than an almond.
They have given me an egg smaller than a goddang PEA. HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE.
(They are both very old rescue doves, so I think they've just run out.)
I don't have a pic, sadly. Sorry! But I just had to share XD

Lack of calcium?
Egg passing quicker that it should?

I would bring it up with your vet, just to be sure all is ok. I know with parrot eggs, smaller eggs can be a sign that something is wrong, they are not normal.

Chickens sometimes lay something called a fairy egg, which is when the egg has no or almost no yolk. I don't know if something similar can happen with doves though.

we opened it up, and there was hardly any yolk. it's not a calcium deficiency, I give them calcium on their food daily when they are gravid. she bred about two weeks ago, so the egg was fully developed.
