Hello to everyone. Since most ice creams contain milk, I only let Pasha taste it once and he is very upset. So I decided to make ice cream for Pasha.
A handful of;
-Raspberry
-Blackberry
-Black mulberry
-2 strawberries
(If it is frozen before use, it will have a better consistency)
-Half a glass of water
-Half a mango
-Half of an apple
-1 teaspoon of maple syrup
Three each;
-Hazelnut
-Almond
Run them all through the robot, it gets small enough. I later;
one teaspoon each
-Chia seeds
-quinoa
-Sesame
-I added 1 teaspoon of oats.
Enjoy your meal :heart2:

Sounds like a really yummy treat to have occasionally.
Are you eating them too? I would eat them :)

I make a similar thing for us humans that I share with Burt.
I use just frozen banana and blueberry and add an equal amount of a non dairy milk like almond milk (coconut water is good too). Blend it and refreeze if needed.
Burt doesn’t get as much as I do though because he doesn’t have a lot of fruit.

Yes, this is the first time he's had ice cream in his hands. IMG_20211018_114318.jpg

That’s such a smart idea! I eat healthy ice cream a bit like Shezbug‘s recipe-frozen banana with chopped almonds and some other frozen fruits. It’s delicious! I haven’t tried giving it to my birds though. And it is also a great way to keep cool!

Yes, you are right.
Pasha loves ice cream. Your beautiful birds should try it too.

Ooo that looks and sounds delicious! I would probably pass on adding the maple syrup though, because the fruit already makes the ice cream sweet enough :)

In fact, I just added maple syrup to the first ice cream I made.
Later I realized that it was not necessary. That's why I didn't addit. :)

I would be careful about adding dry chia to anything. Chia swells like crazy and can cause blockages in birds. I would soak a small quantity of chia then add it to 'ice cream'. Just adding this as a reference.

You are completely right. I keep the chia seeds inside while the ice cream is still in liquid form. I make sure the chia seeds swell.
