And almonds have the least fat and most calcium. Of course my Jasper (the junk food junkie) likes walnuts (high fat and she has CHP) best. Fritos are even better than walnuts.

Stevo, you can wash them off in running water, then scatter them out on a tray to dry. That will take the majority of the salt off.

Actually, walnuts are an excellent source of Omega-3 fatty acids. (Flax is the best. Pumpkin seeds are good too. Other sources are shrimp and cold-water oily fish like sardines and salmon which my birds won't eat.)
This is an essential diet ingredient that their bodies cannot manufacture, they need to eat it to be healthy.
HolisticBird and HolisticBirds
You should join your parrots in eating some walnuts.

We have never tried pistacios - they are SOOOO expensive here, almost as much as macs. My hubby adores pistacios so if I found a good source for cheap, I would order a supply for the birds and Don!

Jewel loves pistachios! We use that as our bribe/reward for going into her cage.. she knows she's going to get one when we have to put her in.. or when I leave in the morning to take the kids to school and daycare.
