So Phoenix has one flake of skin coming off his nose (at the base of the cere right where the beak starts, it’s so hard to get a picture of it) I’m not sure if it’s cause for any major concern, but what could cause this? I assume it’s the low humidity in my room, I just got an air humidifier for him so hopefully that will help.
his nose is also starting to turn darker and almost blueish, it has been over the past week or so. I love it
It's also totally possible he just scratched it on something, he was flying around being a maniac just before I noticed the flake

Perfectly normal for beaks to flake. He can rub it on a natural perch. The photos are adorable but you know that already. How quickly they mature.

Phoenix is a handsome guy. Have to watch the wire mesh. Its thinner than bars so imagine could be sharp for the feet or the beak if he rubbed it on a wire.

I was worried about that but he seems to handle it well, he’s more interested in the ladders and toys in the cage anyway and he’s only on the wire when I walk in and he wants out

Is it normal for baby budgies to sleep a lot? I didn't think much of his sleeping habits until I saw that budgies only need 10-12 hours of sleep a day. He has lights out for 12 hours (I have no idea if he's actually sleeping those full 12 hours, but he is asleep every time I uncover his cage), then he wakes up and eats breakfast with me, then goes right back down for a nap for about half an hour... and I think he naps for a total of 2-3 hours a day. I don't think it's out of boredom because he's out of the cage all day long, he only has to go in his cage when I have to leave the room for longer than 5-10 minutes
