Milton broke a claw-cause unknown- on Memorial Day. I held him while my brother stopped the bleeding with cornstarch. Milty was a very good bird through the procedure. Milty came over to me yesterday morning...this took place...

Me: How are you today, Bird?

Milton: "I FINE"...

Me: Your Mom was worried about you...

Milton: "I KNOW DAT"....

Milton comes up to the collar of the tee shirt I'm wearing...

Milton: "WANT IN!"

Me: No, you're noting going in right now, Bird...

Milton looks at me...then lifts his "damaged" foot in the air...and WAVES AT ME...

Me: I thought you said you were fine, Bird...

Milton: Laughs hysterically...

...what a snot...

I was impressed that Milton remained calm through the process. The key was that my brother and I remained calm, so Milty didn't have to get excited...it was very hard to stay calm...with a bleeding cockatoo sitting in the palm of hand...staring at you...

Wow, if his foot was bothering him would he hold it up and say "hurt"? If he understands he's fine, I was wondering...geez he's amazing. That would be cool if he could tell you he didn't feel good.

years ago my husband’s German Shepherd stepped on a piece of glass. Hubby fixed him up and babied him for a few days. When he recovered and if did no want to go for a walk, he would put his foot up in the air and yelp and whine. Though perfectly healed,
‘ it hurts so cant walk, sorry! Catch me later. ‘

My German Shepherd limped after I stepped on his foot when he was little. I was so upset. That dog played me all evening. The roommate walks in, dog has all feet on the floor racing for the door.....I called the dog and he limped with the WRONG FOOT!
