For those of you who remember Bob (cassiesdad), the rescue that I help with still has his cockatiels, and Sunshine and Tweety are finally getting adopted! The adopter is a lovely young woman who is thrilled to be adopting them. We wanted to get them their annual checkup before getting adopted, which we did yesterday, and the tiels are staying with me until the adopter has her cage ready, etc. They are such sweethearts! I have really been enjoying getting to spend time with them. They are such good, sweet birds. It still boggles my mind that it took this long to find them a home but they finally found a great one.

I don't know if I wrote about this before, but we ended up separating them from Igor. They were together for quite a while and then they had to switch foster homes. The new foster said, I really don't think Igor likes the other two. So, we did a trial separation. Igor was thrilled. LOL. He's with one of my favorite tiel fosters and is living his best life. I seriously have never seen him so happy. They very nicely asked me when my Scooter died if I would like to adopt Igor. If I hadn't seen him in his current foster home, I would have said yes in a heart beat. But, I can't give him what he's getting now. He's out all day. There are 2 other cockatiels in the house. So there is a "flock" but he spends most of his day out with his foster parents and is just really happy. The foster mom and I decided that unless we find someone that can basically give him the life he has now (or better), he will just stay with her forever.

And Milton is currently on vacation with his new people. He seriously lives a better life than I do. LOL. But I am really, really happy for him.

Wonderful to hear that they have a new home! I hope that somewhere, Bob is happy to know that his tiels will be loved and cared for.
