It never fails that while I'm in the other room helping Frankie with his pin feathers, Miss Dolly hears us together and starts shrieking, which freaks Frankie out. After that I can't get him to relax for a while. She is super jealous, and wants me all to herself.

Also, I'm unable to help my darling Buzz with his pins because he always holds my thumb in his mouth & my other fingers are not opposable, while the Big Blue Bluffer demands head scritches and my pin removal service everytime I pass by.

Any suggestions? I mist (read: soak) both boys fairly regularly now but Buzz grumps at me if I manage to slip past his beak when it's busy & grabs my thumb. I need help preening my big, green porcupine.

Hopefully someday soon the two of them will start preening each other, and find out its a great past time.

I think Leon must have a terrible (fake) cold. He has said "Achoo!" five times in a row so I could tell him gesundheit. He's such a silly cutie!

When I had my girls, Daff & Annie, I curled my fingers over their beaks and gently rubbed their nares and the tiny feathers at the top of the beak. They would often bliss out, allowing my to preen with my other hand. Try that.
