OK, 'they' say the equivalent age of a dog to human is about 7 years. So, every human year that goes by is about 7 years to a dog.
OK, ready? How does this work for a Sun Conure? What would the equivalent to human years be?
Thanks,

That’s actually inaccurate, there are many other factors to finding a dog’s age, including weight and breed.
Not sure about the conure.

Interesting link Mizzely!

Jaime is my age,

Adelie, Lapis and Nube are all exactly half my age,

Gisli would be 5/6

And Sydney is old enough to be my dad

Simple math. If humans live to say 90 average. Conures average around 30 years. That would make it a 3 to 1 ratio. So 3 conure years for every human one.

I've never been the brightest bulb on the tree but my calculations, as best as I could figure, came out to be about 4 or maybe 5... AND I WAS RIGHT!!! according to that bird year calculator anyway. ;) That makes Farlie about 10 years old. (No wonder he's such a pain...)

I’m pretty sure the classic “dog year” is just divided. If a dog lives 15 years and a person lives ninety, you just divide. A dog year is pretty much made up. I’m not sure though.

According to that calculator, Rupert would be 27, and Sherbie would be 44. I can assure you, that both of them act like rowdy teenagers.

Are you sure? That could be a world record. Guinness book anyway.

Charlie

Oldest Macaw

Charlie, a blue macaw, is still alive and kicking despite hatching all the way back in 1899. At 117 years old, Charlie blows the average 50-year life span of macaws out of the nest. Legend has it that Charlie was originally Winston Churchill's companion.

As far as I know, there is no evidence of the bird being born in 1899 as the owner claims, the administration of Churchill's former country home has no record of any parrot being there, and Churchill's daughter denies that he ever owned a macaw. He did own an African Grey, but reportedly sold the bird before becoming Prime Minister.

That does say “legend has it”.

Also, pretty sure @faislaq meant in human years ;)
