I have 2 african ringnecks. Was told they are males. They have a kind of brownish dingy feathers on their chest. Is this normal?

Not the best photo to really see all that well. Are they young? Molting? What do you feed them?

Do you know how old they are?

How long have you had them for?

Bathes can help as well as a good diet. If the feathers are "bad", it can take 1-2 years for them to fill in/look healthy again. I have a female african ringneck and she was in pretty rough shape (feather wise) when I took her in.

I agree with the above molting, diet and age are all questions I have.

Another consideration, it could be staining from toys. If he was chewing on a natural stick tannins can stain. Can you share more photos of the overall set up of the cage with toys? Maybe we can spot the culprit!
