My budgie is a bit scared of new things. But hopefully the lovebirds can take him there to explore.

What level of skills in woodworking does it need to do something like this?

As long as you know how to use a drill, you should be able to do it. I picked up the base board from the homedepot from the leftover wood. And the grapevine i went to a repatile warehouse to get it. It is really hard to buy online because you can't really see the shape of it.

These are the raw materials. I am thinking about actually building a tree like stand for them and replace the cage in the living room since they don't necessarily like to play inside. I think when it comes to building a playground, it will definitely take a lot of mental effort. Before i was thinking about going into the woods to find the materials. It is much harder than expected because i can't pick up a random branches from the floor. So i ended up going to repatile store. Suprisingly, they have a lot of options. You definitely need to check whether this wood is safe for birds. Some wood are called amazon wood, pls don't buy, they can be any kind of wood from that area. Don't try to buy wood branches online as well(if you are builing the main body of the playstand) because you never know whether the shape will fit your need. I ordered a java wood branches online hoping it will have more horizontal space but they turned out to have more vertical spaces. Also, forgot to mention, you will need sand paper to sand down the base board so that when you are holding it or when they are playing on it they won't get hurt.
