Zara might know. Think black cheeked is smaller & rarer though.

The lutino is definitely a black-cheeked, but I am not positive about the blue.

Welcome to the Avenue! 1.welcome signs.gif

I´m sorry, I don´t know the answer.
Does the bird on the left have a band? Maybe you could trace the breeder to find out. If this is the breeder, they should know, and could probably show you the parents.

Here is a picture that shows how to differentiate between the eye-ring species:

AGAPORNIS DARK EYED CLEAR (D.E.C) By akhilchandrika.jpg

The picture is for dark eyed clear, but the differences between the species are the same.

They both look black-masked to me. But I am no expert on lovebirds. Does the seller not know?

Going off of the picture Matthew posted above, I´d have to say the lutino is very likely Black-Cheeked (Nigrigenis). See the red/ orange comes down quite far, and the whiteness under and around the beak.

I found these photos, it seems like the black masked has more white on the chest?

It looks like both are black cheeked to me because the blue in the photo has darker black like this:

Meanwhile the black on a black masked is like this:

So sorry-- I've lost out a couple of times on a unique color of LB... I always think of them.
