Hypercalcemia?

My cockatiel, Cocoa, is a 13yo male who has been having issues with his legs/feet. His gait is uneven and his feet seemed weak. We took him to the vet last week, she thought it could be arthritis or heart disease since he’s a little overweight. We did bloodwork and started Meloxicam, which seems to be helping. We got the blood test results back today and the vet said his blood calcium is a little high which can be a sign of cancer, although she would expect it to be higher if that was the case.

I’ve been looking online but can’t find much about Hypercalcemia, does anyone have experience with this or information about what could cause it besides cancer?

What's his diet? That would be the first thought, is looking at sources of calcium he's getting. Was she worried and wanting to address it at all?

He gets Roudybush pellets with a little bit of seed mix and senior bird nutriberries. His vet wants to do x-rays to look for heart issues or tumors and things like that, but she didn’t seem too worried about the calcium itself
